Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and execution of the organisation’s strategy by embedding data-driven decision-making across all business units.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy, including data governance, architecture, analytics, and reporting frameworks aligned to business needs.
- Oversee the collection, management, and integrity of data across the organisation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency of information.
- Lead the development and delivery of management dashboards, performance reports, and analytics to support Executive Management and Board decision-making.
- Provide advanced analytics and insights on key business areas including customer behaviour, revenue performance, portfolio quality, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of regulatory and statutory reports in line with Bank of Botswana and other regulatory requirements.
- Establish and enforce data governance frameworks, policies, and standards to ensure proper data ownership, quality control, and security.
- Collaborate with IT and Digital teams to develop and optimise data infrastructure, systems integration, and reporting platforms.
- Drive automation of reporting processes and enhance data accessibility through modern business intelligence tools and platforms.
- Support business units with data analysis for product development, customer segmentation, pricing, and performance optimisation.
- Monitor and improve data quality across systems, identifying and resolving data gaps, inconsistencies, and inefficiencies.
- Provide insights to support key organisational priorities such as customer lifecycle management, revenue growth, cost optimisation, and risk management.
- Lead the development of predictive and advanced analytics capabilities to enhance forecasting, decision-making, and strategic planning.
- Build and lead a high-performing data team, enhancing analytical capabilities and fostering a culture of data-driven performance management.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
- Postgraduate qualification in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or related field is an added advantage.
- At least ten (10) years’ experience in data management, analytics, or MIS within a financial institution or similar environment, with at least three (3) years at senior management level.
