Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the position will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations in Business Development, Marketing, Retail, Agronomy and Veterinary Services, positioning BAMB as the leading bulk supplier and distributor of grains.
Key Responsibilities
- Participating in the development of BAMB’s overall corporate strategy.
- Leading the design and execution of departmental strategies aligned with Board objectives.
- Developing and implementing marketing strategies to increase market share and revenue.
- Commissioning market research to identify opportunities and monitor industry trends.
- Enhancing BAMB’s corporate image through packaging, branding, and promotional campaigns.
- Ensuring stock availability and efficient management across all branches.
- Monitoring stock turnover and quality while minimising disposals.
- Setting and achieving annual sales targets across all business units.
- Building strong relationships with farmers, suppliers, customers, and government departments.
- Managing departmental budgets and authorising expenditure.
- Driving corporate social investment initiatives.
- Ensuring compliance with risk management, audit requirements, and quality management systems (QMS).
- Leading recruitment, performance management, and staff development in the department.
Requirements
- Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related area.
- Membership to the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
- At least ten (10) years post graduate experience, of which four (4) should have been spent at Managerial level preferably in the wholesale/retail industry.
- Detailed knowledge of cereal and related products and arable agricultural production.
- Strategic and business orientation.
- Leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Budgeting and resource management.
- Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
