Job Purpose
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Head of Sales, Marketing and Logistics will oversee the development and implementation of sales, marketing and logistics strategies, aimed at increasing sales volumes, market share, price and margin optimisation, customer management and ensuring existence of efficient distribution channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing market entry and exit strategies.
  • Championing a market-led sales culture across the organisation.
  • Identifying and prioritising new markets in line with MCM’s strategy.
  • Designing pricing strategies, sales books and price optimisation initiatives.
  • Leading complex negotiations and concluding profitable sales and supply agreements.
  • Providing market, sales and logistics insights to support production and strategic planning.
  • Strengthening customer experience, key account management and customer relationships.
  • Overseeing marketing and promotion of MCM products to improve brand visibility and sales.
  • Building partnerships with customers, traders and logistics stakeholders to unlock key markets.
  • Driving sales and marketing digital transformation to improve efficiency and decision-making.
  • Developing and implementing short- and long-term sales plans to grow sales volumes, market share and increase profitability.
  • Overseeing implementation of logistics and distribution strategies to ensure efficient and cost-effective routes to market.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree in a related field or a Management Development Programme would be an added advantage.
  • At least 10 years’ relevant experience, with a minimum of 3 years at managerial level within a mining sales and marketing function.
  • Knowledge of coal product marketing, coal supply agreements, pricing optimisation, customer management, logistics and distribution management.
  • Knowledge of SHE Management Systems.
  • Coal industry proficiency.
