Key Responsibilities

• Leading the formulation and implementation of the (R &D) strategic plan and policies, to support the achievement of BVI strategic objectives
• Leading the positioning of BVI as the local, regional, and international R&D Centre of infectious diseases
• Leading research for the adoption of new technology and equipment to improve the Institute’s operational efficiency and business.
• Ensuring the R & D facilities, laboratory(s) comply with all the required ethical, safety, biosecurity, health and environmental standards.
• Ensuring compliance with all the required ethical, regulatory procedures and standards (local & international) to enable effective R & D.

Requirements

• The right candidate should have PhD In Veterinary Science, Health Science or Biological Science.
• The candidate should have membership to a recognized professional body in good standing.
• A minimum of eight (8) years post-doctoral experience in a relevant R & D environment with at least five (5) years at a research leadership level in health sciences.
• Demonstrable practical experience in product development will be an added advantage.
