HELPDESK ENGINEER INTERN X4 – Nashua Botswana

Technique (PTY) LTD t/a Nashua Botswana is looking to employ a suitably qualified and selfmotivated “ (4)” tenable in Gaborone, Botswana to join our ISP –
NConnect Department on an Internship basis.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The ideal candidates will provide technical
support to customers in an efficient and
accurate manner. Also serve as the ISP’s front
liner and solve basic technical problems and
provide support for all customers. All
assistance is provided via phone, e-mail, walkin, or through the use of remote-control
software.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAIN DUTIES
• Provide first level contact and convey
resolutions to customer issues.
• Properly escalate unresolved queries to
the next level of support.
• Track, route and redirect problems to
correct resources.
• Update customer data and produce
activity reports.
• Walk customers through problem solving
problems.
• Follow up with customers, provide
feedback and see problems through to
maintain gen set, server room AC
temperature and electricity daily readings.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education / Certification / Experience Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science
and/or related field.
• 0 – 2 years of related experience.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
certification, ITIL, LINUX (Preferred as
added advantage).
• Proven experience and success with LAN,
WAN and WLAN.
• Knowledge of core routing and switching
design principles, best practices, and
related technologies.
• Working technical knowledge of current
network hardware, protocols, and Internet
standards, including routers, switches
(layer 2/3), firewalls, remote access &
DNS.
• Excellent hardware troubleshooting
experience.
• Extensive application support experience
with network monitoring and analysis
software.
• Competence with testing tools and
procedures for ISPs.
