The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and overall presentation of guest rooms and public areas. This role ensures every guest feels they are entering a room that is being stayed in for the first time by adhering to strict brand standards. Cleanliness is the first door to our guest’s peaceful escape.
Key Responsibilities
- Room Sanitization: Strip and remake beds with fresh linens; thoroughly clean and disinfect bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, and showers.
- Daily Maintenance: Dust and polish all furniture; vacuum carpets and mop hard floors; clean mirrors and windows to ensure they are streak-free.
- Amenity Replenishment: Restock toiletries (shampoo, soap), coffee/tea supplies, and fresh towels in guest rooms and public areas.
- Guest Service: Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests for extra items like pillows or towels, iron, iron board and complimentary water.
- Safety & Compliance: Report maintenance issues (e.g., leaky faucets, burnt-out bulbs, tv and remotes, broken glass, broken or damaged utensils and cups, exposed dangerous surfaces, non-working kettles, non-working room fridge, non-working aircon and remotes) and log lost-and-found items according to hotel policy.
- Public Area Care: Maintain cleanliness in high-traffic spaces such as lobbies, hallways, and garden areas.
Requirements
- Certificate in Tourism & Hotel Management equivalent.
- At least 2 years prior experience as a Housekeeper in a Guest House or Hotel.
