Human Resource Officer

Job Description

Our Client in the Power Generation Industry is seeking a highly experienced Human Resource Officer to join their team. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in policy development and implementation.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in alignment with company goals and industry best practices.
• Oversee the recruitment and selection process, ensuring the hiring of qualified candidates.
• Manage employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, training and development, and retention.
• Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
• Build and maintain a positive and productive work environment that fosters diversity, inclusion, and collaboration.
• Ensure compliance with labour laws and regulations.
• Provide guidance and support to employees regarding HR-related matters.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to enhance HR processes.

Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 8 to 10 years of experience in human resources.
• Previous work experience in the Power/Mining industry added advantage.
• Excellent understanding of the Botswana labour laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
• Proficient in HR software and MS Office Suite.
• Required to travel from time to time to remote locations.
• Contract Term is renewable.
