JCHX Mining Management Co., Ltd. (JCHX) has been awarded a five-year contract for underground mining services at MMG’s Khoemacau Copper Mine at Toteng, Zone 5, -Botswana. JCHX, a global mining contractor with nearly 30 years of experience, will be responsible for the development and operation of the underground mine. The project is seen as a significant step towards MMG’s goal of increasing copper production at Khoemacau. We seek applications from suitably experienced and qualified individuals for the above-mentioned position to be based at Toteng, Zone 5. POSITION SUMMARY The Human Resources Officer is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources function, ensuring efficient delivery of HR services and compliance with organizational policies and labour regulations. The role focuses on recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with line managers to provide proactive HR advisory support across the employee lifecycle, with a strong focus on employee relations, performance management, and compliance.
  • Manage work permits and immigration administration, ensuring full adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and coordinate end-to-end recruitment for junior and entry-level roles, including workforce planning discussions, job advertising, candidate screening, interviewing, and placement.
  • Provide expert guidance to line managers and employees on industrial relations matters, including disciplinary processes, grievance handling, and dispute resolution, in line with company policies and Botswana Labour legislation.
  • Manage and maintain effective relationships with the BMWU Branch committee, acting as a key point of contact for union representatives and supporting collective bargaining, consultations, and negotiations where applicable.
  • Conduct OCC Meetings with BMWU Branch committee representation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR documentation in line with records management and data protection standards.
  • Support payroll processes by ensuring accurate attendance records, employee data updates, and timely submission of payroll inputs.
  • Facilitate the Injury management and workers compensation process in conjunction with the HSE Department.
  • Support performance management processes and staff development initiatives.
  • Promote and uphold corporate governance principles by ensuring HR practices, processes, and documentation meet organizational and legal standards.
  • Prepare & submit HR reports for the Client
  • Manage subcontractors recruitment & monthly reports submission
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes and perform additional duties as assigned in support of HR and business objectives.
  • Perform any other HR-related duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.

Requirements

  • Degree Qualifications in Human Resources or Social Science or related discipline
  • Atleast 3-5 years in a similar role
  • Class B Manual driver’s license
  • Sage 300 payroll competency will be an added advantage
