BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

The Human Resources Officer – Recruitment will be responsible for supporting the effective management of human resources by assisting in talent acquisition, recruitment systems, resourcing and compliance with HR policies and labour laws. The role ensures fair application of recruitment, ensuring timely quality appointments while complying to recruitment governance, enhancing candidate experience, ensuring diversity in workforce placement.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your key accountabilities include:

  • Implementing recruitment activities for positions across the mining operation, ensuring the sourcing and selection of candidates who meet approved job requirements.
  • Facilitating end-to-end recruitment activities in PageUp, including approved position requisitions, advertising, sourcing, screening, shortlisting, interviewing, assessments, reference and security checks, offers, onboarding and final handover to line management.
  • Tracking recruitment progress, turnaround times, ageing vacancies, bottlenecks and overdue actions, and escalating delays to the relevant HRBP or hiring manager.
  • Ensuring recruitment activities are conducted in accordance with approved procedures, employment legislation, delegated authorities, internal controls and documentation requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date vacancy, candidate, recruitment workflow and supporting documentation records in PageUp, Payspace, SAP and other relevant HR systems.
  • Providing timely and professional recruitment support and communication to candidates, HRBPs, hiring managers and other stakeholders throughout the recruitment and selection process.
  • Identifying, resolving and escalating PageUp data discrepancies, workflow issues, system challenges and recruitment process gaps, while supporting system testing, data validation and approved enhancements.
  • Coordinating pre-employment and onboarding requirements for successful candidates prior to their reporting date and final handover to line management.
  • Monitoring and analysing recruitment trends, performance measures and recruitment data for reporting, decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinating medical aid and pension fund administration and providing input into the development and review of recruitment policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements, best practice and the internal business environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Must have worked in various HR areas, including recruitment and selection, and employee relations.
  • Experience of working with contractors.
