In compliance with legislative requirements, the Board of Trustees of the VIVO Energy Botswana (VIVO) Staff Pension Fund invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to serve as an Independent Trustee on the Board of Trustees of the Fund. The Fund is a defined contribution fund which is licensed by the Non-Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority and approved by the Botswana Unified Revenue Service. The Fund has been established with the primary objective of providing post-retirement and other benefits for individuals. The successful candidate should be well versed in the retirement funds industry, an independent and strategic thinker who is expected to add depth, expertise, and diversity to the Fund’s Board of Trustees in carrying out its fiduciary responsibilities on behalf of its members.

Requirements

  • The candidate should be an individual who is not an employee of Minet Botswana, its subsidiaries/related entities or any service provider to the Fund.
  • The candidate should have an investment management background and expertise with practical working experience in the fund management industry. This should be an individual who is presently not tied directly or indirectly to a local asset management firm.
  • A degree in Finance/investments, actuarial science or risk management supported by at least
  • 5 years practical experience within the financial services environment/investments. Well versed in pension fund and legislative issues
  • The individual must be of good standing to be approved by the Regulatory Authority (NBFIRA) to be a Controller of a Retirement Fund.
  • Experience in infrastructure funds, and ESG investing would be an added advantage
