Uncharted Africa Safari Co. is seeking applications for the following positions:
Responsible for the construction, repair, and maintenance of structural woodwork, furniture, fixtures, and camp infrastructure to required quality, safety, and durability standards across operations and projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Construct, install, and repair wooden structures, furniture, decking, doors, frames, fittings, and fixtures.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, measurements, and specifications accurately.
- Carry out preventative maintenance and repair works on camp structures, furnishings, and fittings.
- Select appropriate materials and ensure efficient material usage to minimise wastage.
- Operate, maintain, and safely use carpentry tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Support construction, renovation, and development projects as required.
- Work collaboratively with other artisans (steel, plumbing, electrical) on integrated projects.
- Ensure all work complies with Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) standards and company procedures.
Requirements
- NCC or Trade Certificate in Carpentry or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial, construction, or camp-based carpentry.
- Ability to work from drawings and take accurate measurements.
- Strong attention to detail, finish, and workmanship quality.
- Physically fit and able to work in remote environments.
- Valid driver’s licence is an added advantage.
