Debswana Pension Fund (DPF) is a Botswana based defined contribution pension fund licensed under the Retirement Funds Act (2014). Established as a joint initiative between De Beers Botswana Mining Company (now Debswana), Anglo American Corporation Botswana (Pty) Ltd, and De Beers Prospecting Botswana (Pty) Ltd, DPF is the largest private pension fund in Botswana. Key Responsibilities
- Implementing the approved investment strategy and executing the investment function.
- Managing and diversifying the portfolio to achieve optimal risk-adjusted returns.
- Identifying and controlling investment risk.
- Ensuring compliance with all laws, regulations, Fund Rules and the Investment Policy Statement.
- Maintaining sufficient liquidity to meet benefit obligations.
- Monitoring performance against benchmarks.
- Conducting in-depth investment analysis and developing robust financial models to support data-driven investment decisions.
- Providing guidance and insights to the Fund’s executive leadership team.
- Managing costs and fees prudently.
- Conducting due diligence on investments and counterparties.
- Integrating responsible or ESG considerations where applicable.
- Providing clear, timely reporting and professional advice.
- Producing accurate, well-structured, and actionable qualitative and quantitative research to support investment management function.
- Monitoring local and global market trends to inform strategic decision-making.
- Presenting to different stakeholders.
- Producing and review investment materials for publication, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with market insights.
- Attending to any other investment related tasks.
