To implement an agreed schedule of internal audits, identifying risks and recommending actions to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity.

Key Responsibilities

  • To conduct internal audits of BTC’s IT security environment in response to identified business risks or continuity failures.
  • To assess the effectiveness of IT security controls, policies, standards, and procedures across the organization.
  • To identify vulnerabilities and control weaknesses and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • To ensure compliance with statutory regulations, industry best practices, and BTC IT security policies and standards.
  • To contribute to the development of annual audit plans and provide input into quarterly and annual audit reports.
  • To support management in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating technology-related risks.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Information Systems, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Membership of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) will be an added advantage.
  • IT Audit certifications such as CISA and CISM will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ professional experience in the field of technical audits, IT security auditing, or technology risk management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IT security frameworks, internal audit methodologies, risk assessment techniques, and control environments.
  • Experience in conducting technology audits and preparing audit reports with practical recommendations.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications systems, networks, and information security practices will be an added advantage.
