The IT Technician is responsible for maintaining IT infrastructure, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of computer systems, software, and networks for Chobe Holdings Limited employees

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and recommend new software and hardware solutions.
  • Set up and maintain user email accounts when requested.
  • Provide troubleshooting and resolution for software-related issues
  • Maintain and troubleshoot employees’ computers and peripheral devices(printers, servers, switches, routers, CCTV etc)
  • Coordinate with external suppliers for equipment repairs under warranty or maintenance contracts.
  • Support hardware maintenance and troubleshooting of servers.
  • Monitor and verify network backups daily.
  • Set up, maintain, and remove end-user network accounts as needed.
  • Monitor and optimize network performance to ensure uptime in the remote areas
  • Maintain an inventory of IT equipment and office supplies.
  • Order IT hardware and other related equipment when necessary.
  • Arrange couriers for IT-related shipments.
  • Train staff on basic IT troubleshooting and use of software tools.
  • Maintain accurate IT documentation, manuals, and inventory logs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • At least 3 years of IT support experience.
  • Strong knowledge of computer systems, hardware, software, and networks.
  • Solid understanding of network infrastructure in remote environments.
  • Familiarity with Windows OS, networking protocols, and wireless technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Good planning and organizing skills.
