The University is looking for a qualified and experienced individuals for the below-stated positions. The successful candidates will be appointed on pensionable terms or a fixed-term contract of up to five (5) years. The position is based at the BIUST Campus, Palapye.
To teach and educate undergraduate and graduate students in an academic discipline and to build the knowledge base of the discipline through research and publication.
Key Responsibilities
- To teach and educate undergraduate and graduate students in an academic discipline and to build the knowledge base of the discipline through research and publication.
- To administer teaching and research activities within the discipline of Civil and Environmental Engineering
- To give leadership in the University, the School and the Department, and developing the next generation of academics;
- To play a leading role in improving the teaching and research infrastructure of the Department, Faculty and University.
- To be active in some form of professional service.
Requirements
- A PhD in Construction and Engineering Management, or the relevant field of Civil and Environmental Engineering with speciality in Construction Management or Project Management.
- A Masters Degree in Construction and Engineering Management or related fields of Civil and Environmental Engineering with a specialty in Construction Management.
- A Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering or Civil and Environmental Engineering
- At least 2 years’ experience in either teaching/lecturing/research or industry experience in the relevant field or discipline is an added advantage
- Good research record or evidence of research potential or industry experience or at least two research papers one of the publications in a reputable refereed journal
- Experience of teaching at the Undergraduate/Postgraduate levels is an added advantage
- Should have the skills of coaching and mentoring students
- Should be able to communicate well orally and in writing
- Should possess the skill of time management and be self-motivated
- Be a team player and also be able to work independently
