Key Responsibilities

  • (i) Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Computer and Telecommunications Engineering, including courses such as Computer Programming, Wireless Sensor Systems, Signals and Systems, Digital Signal Processing, Digital Systems Design, Microprocessor-Based Systems, Computer Architecture and Systems, and other related areas;
  • (ii) Actively participate in the supervision and assessment of undergraduate and postgraduate students’ research projects;
  • (iii) Serve on committees within the University and in external professional organizations;
  • (iv) Carry out any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Chairperson of the Department.

Requirements

  • (i) At least a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer and Telecommunications Engineering or a related field;
  • (ii) A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer and Telecommunications Engineering or a related field;
  • (iii) A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer and Telecommunications Engineering or a related field from a recognized university;
  • (iv) Evidence of governance (e.g. service to a university) and social engagement (e.g. service to the profession and community), research products (e.g. articles, book chapters, peer reviewed conference proceedings, etc.) published by recognized publishers, and teaching experience at a University or comparable institution will be added advantages.
  • Other Requirements: Registration with, or eligibility for registration with, the Engineering Registration Board (ERB) is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Understanding of teaching and principles and practices.
  • Understanding of research methodologies, tools and principles.
