VACANCY: MAINTENANCE FITTER
About the role
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will perform maintenance, repairs, and equipment installations for a high-capacity feed mill facility, while leading a small team of artisans.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure scheduled maintenance on plant equipment is completed within prescribed timeframes.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues in mixers, grinders, conveyors, and pellet presses.
- Respond timeously to all mechanical and emergency breakdowns to ensure minimum downtime.
- Carry out equipment installations, modifications, and upgrades as required.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including Lockout/Tag Out, Hot Works, and Confined Spaces.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, material usage, and breakdown reports.
Requirements
- National Craft Certificate (NCC) in Maintenance Fitting or Mechanical Fitting.
- 3-5 years post-apprenticeship experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
- Experience in a feed mill setting is highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and technical drawings.
- Physically fit and capable of working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Must be a citizen of Botswana.
