Ontrock Engineering (Pty) Ltd has a vacancy for fully qualified and experienced Maintenance Fitter at Jwaneng Mine.
Key Responsibilities
- Fit, align, and assemble water pumps, vacuum pumps, and associated piping
- Conduct commissioning tests to ensure operational efficiency.
- Perform routine inspections, and servicing of pumps.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out corrective repairs.
- Replace worn-out parts such as bearings, seals, impellers, and shafts.
- Monitor pump performance and troubleshoot operational issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Collaborate with engineers and other artisans to optimize equipment reliability.
- Report breakdowns, repairs, and preventive maintenance schedules.
Requirements
- BGCSE + NCC in Maintenance Fitting / Fitter Machinist
- Specialized pumps training is added advantage.
- Minimum 5 + years’ experience in pump fitting within the mining industry.
- Experience with underground and surface mining equipment.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices.
- Driver’s License – Class B.
- Strong knowledge of pump mechanics
- Proficiency in alignment techniques
- Problem-solving and fault-finding abilities.
- Knowledge of mining safety regulations and risk management.
- Attention to detail and precision.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
