Chloride Exide Botswana (Pty) Ltd. an ISO 9001-2015 Company is based in Gaborone and manufactures lead acid automotive batteries for the replacement market within the SADC region and is looking to employ a competent person having an Electrical Engineering background with the necessary qualifications.
The position would suit an enthusiastic, self-motivated Electrical Engineer having at least 3 plus years of factory maintenance experience in a busy production environment and holding a Diploma in Electrical Engineering and or Electrical Trade C qualification.
In addition, the incumbent would require knowledge and experience in pneumatic, hydraulic, automated PLC systems plus a working knowledge of computer integrated controls and the ability to do mechanical repairs.

Job Scope:
- Busy production environment.
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering and or Electrical Trade C qualification
- Electrical fault finding and repairs.
- Electrical DB board cleaning.
- Basic pneumatic fault finding and repairs
- Basic hydraulic fault finding and repairs
- Ability to interpret electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams.
- General mechanical repairs.
- Be available for after-hours call out when required.
- Carry out periodical equipment audits to determine the spares required for machinery and carry out inventory of critical spares as and when required.
- Identify spares required and arrange procurement with the relevant suppliers via the Engineering Manager.
- Assist Factory manager, Production Manager and his crew in achieving optimum machine settings during equipment commissions as and when required.
- Ensures statutory requirements are met in relation to the employment act and any other relevant legislation in force.
- Be involved in all health and safety aspects of the company.
- Reports to Engineering Manager.
