Job Summary
The Technician will be responsible for the delivery of repairs and maintenance activities for all Fuel/Lubes receiving, storage and dispensing facilities at the mine site to ensure that these assets function optimally and in accordance with Puma Energy Policies, Procedures and Standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Decant road tankers efficiently, safely and promptly in accordance with relevant task procedures
  • Take daily dips and temperature readings from bulk tanks and ensure integrity of data collected in compliance with standard procedures
  • Transfer product safely and efficiently between storage tanks as required
  • Ensure all required tests are conducted before offloading trucks in line with laid down procedures
  • Offload packed lubricants and ensure proper storage in accordance with approved procedures
  • Conduct weekly lubricant stock counts and investigate any variances identified
  • Load lubricants for supply to customers on site as required
  • Inspect valves, couplings and related equipment relevant to road decanting to ensure facilities are maintained in a timely and efficient manner
  • Maintain housekeeping standards at bulk storage, fuel/lubes receiving and dispensing areas as well as the yard
  • Take responsibility for personal safety and contribute towards accident prevention
  • Comply fully with all Company and Legislated HSEQ requirements
  • Report all unsafe acts, conditions and practices to Site Management
  • Report potentially hazardous situations and practices identified on site
  • Attend HSE meetings and training sessions as required
  • Participate in monthly emergency drills and safety stand-downs
  • Carry out day-to-day operational tasks as directed by the Site Manager or Site Administrator
  • Assist with equipment maintenance, cleaning of fixed and mobile equipment, and general housekeeping tasks
  • Be available to work overtime, weekends and public holidays when operational requirements demand

Requirements

  • Minimum NCC qualification or appropriate technical discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a technical field
  • Previous exposure in the petrochemical industry and/or mining environment will be an added advantage
  • Good technical skills
  • Computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Task-oriented with strong oral and written communication skills
  • Good negotiation and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines
