Job Summary
The incumbent will be responsible to drive growth, profitability, and risk management of trade finance and working capital solutions within the Business Banking segment. This role involves structuring and delivering tailored trade and liquidity solutions (e.g., overdrafts, invoice discounting, supply chain finance, letters of credit) to business clients, while enhancing client relationships and ensuring compliance with regulatory and credit policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to grow Trade & Working Capital portfolios.
  • Identify and acquire new business clients needing trade finance and liquidity solutions.
  • Cross-sell trade and working capital products to existing Business Banking clients.
  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers (RMs) to structure optimal client solutions.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor offerings to refine product positioning.
  • Structure trade finance solutions, including:- Letters of Credit (LCs)
  • Bank Guarantees
  • Bills for Collection
  • Invoice Discounting / Factoring
  • Supply Chain Finance
  • Advise clients on trade finance best practices, risk mitigation, and cash flow optimization.
  • Customize working capital solutions based on client operational cycles.
  • Manage and monitor existing trade and working capital portfolio.
  • Track utilization, profitability, and turnover of facilities.
  • Identify early warning signs and take corrective actions on underperforming accounts.
  • Ensure appropriate pricing and risk-adjusted returns.
  • Prepare and review credit proposals for trade and working capital facilities.
  • Conduct financial analysis and assess client creditworthiness.
  • Ensure adherence to internal credit policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Mitigate operational and transactional risks associated with trade finance instruments.
  • Work with Credit Risk teams to ensure quality of portfolio.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key business clients and stakeholders.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on trade finance.
  • Provide ongoing support and advisory to optimize client working capital cycles.
  • Handle client queries related to trade transactions efficiently.
  • Ensure smooth execution of trade transactions in collaboration with operations teams.
  • Monitor turnaround times and service quality.
  • Ensure full compliance with AML/KYC and regulatory guidelines.
  • Address operational bottlenecks and continuously improve processes.
  • Work closely with:- Relationship Managers
  • Credit Risk teams
  • Operations/Trade Processing units
  • Treasury and product teams
  • Partner with internal teams to enhance product offerings and service delivery.
  • Prepare portfolio and performance reports (revenue, utilization, growth).
  • Track KPIs such as turnaround time, deal conversion, and client acquisition.
  • Present insights and recommendations to management.
