Main Purpose of the Job
• To develop internal and external communication strategies and processes to enhance public awareness of the role and function of the Authority efforts in order to cultivate and manage optimal stakeholder relationships;
• To develop strategic alliances, manage institutional partnerships and collaborations to ensure adherence to norms and standards in order to preserve the good repute of Botswana in the financial services sector.

Principal Accountabilities
• Build international profile for the Authority through media coverage, events and conferences;
• Strengthen the Authority’s liaison with the international world, standards setting bodies and other strategic partners;
• Develop and implement strategies for external communications campaigns that are designed to improve understanding and appreciation of the Authority;
• Develop and administer communications protocols and procedures in order to manage the integrity of information disseminated;
• Develop and implement business plans and budgets for the department in order to meet the operational needs of the organization consistent with the Authority’s corporate strategies and objectives;
• Effectively manage and develop the department’s human capital, instilling a high performance culture in order to achieve the Authority’s strategic objectives.
• Builds a positive image and reputation for the Authority, through strategic relationships between the NBFIRA and its internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinates the Authority’s interaction with foreign entities and other relevant stakeholders, including but not limited to foreign requests, media coverage, visits, peer reviews, assessments.
• Co-ordinates and enhances bilateral or multilateral co-operation between NBFIRA, local and foreign regulatory authorities/supervisors through Memoranda of Understanding.
• Researches and monitors local, regional and international developments relevant to the Authority’s work.
Position Requirements
• Masters’ Degree in International Relations, Communications or any Financial qualification.
• Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience, three (3) of which being at a managerial level in a communication management, international relations and/or regulatory environment with a demonstrated record of effectiveness.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
