Job Title: Operations Deployment Specialist
Role Purpose:
The Operations Deployment Specialist will ensure everything is in place for a smooth launch – from equipment and systems to on-ground teams. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys organizing, solving problems, and working in the field. The position is based in Gaborone, Botswana.
The role supports Sand Technologies’ expansion across Africa, specifically delivering transformative AI and data solutions like the Health Operating System (HOS), which digitizes clinics and integrates data to drive better health outcomes in areas such as maternal health and chronic disease management.
Work Environment:
This is a hybrid role with significant in-person requirements. It demands a regular presence on the ground to build relationships, oversee implementation, and liaise with local stakeholders. The candidate must be self-driven, comfortable working in small in-person teams, and disciplined in using online collaboration and video conferencing tools for virtual collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the delivery and setup of technology and equipment at health posts and integrated circuits (ICs).
- Ensure everything is ready for deployment, including power supply, internet connectivity, equipment, and trained users.
- Maintain deployment logs and timelines.
- Coordinate with integrators and support teams after deployment to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements
- 2-4 years of experience in field logistics, operations, or deployments.
- Basic tech troubleshooting and configuration knowledge.
- Strong organizational skills and resilience under pressure.
- Field readiness-able to travel frequently, often to rural areas.
- Language: professional working ability in English.
