OPERATIONS MANAGER – RELIEF

andBeyond is seeking a capable, stable, and energetic Operations Manager – Relief to support our lodges across Northern Botswana. We are built on the strength of remarkable people who deliver exceptional guest experiences while caring for our communities and environment. This role requires a seasoned professional who thrives in remote wilderness settings and leads high-performing teams with passion and purpose.

KEY OUTPUTS

Delivering 5-Star Guest Experiences

• Oversee guest services to ensure a personalised, seamless 5-star experience at each lodge.

• Host VIPs, media, and travel agents with confidence and professionalism.

• Continuously enhance guest satisfaction through innovative service offerings.

Operational & Financial Oversight

• Provide senior-level support across multiple lodges, ensuring strong inter-lodge cooperation.

• Manage financial performance including budgeting, month-end processes, payroll, and reporting.

• Ensure compliance with andBeyond standards, procedures, and brand expectations.

Staff Leadership & Development

• Lead and develop lodge teams, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.

• Drive training, coaching, and succession planning across all departments.

• Support local recruitment initiatives within communities neighbouring the concessions.

Technical, Maintenance & Logistical Management

• Oversee technical operations including vehicles, solar, water and sewerage systems, and infrastructure maintenance.

• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and support and Beyond’s carbon net-zero goals.

• Manage logistics, supply chains, and remote-area operations.

Sustainability, Community & Conservancy Engagement

• Promote sustainable tourism in line with and Beyond’s conservation values.

• Liaise with Tribal Leadership and Community Conservancies to ensure project alignment.

• Collaborate with Wild Impact to deliver impactful community development projects.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Diploma or Degree in Tourism Management, Hospitality, Operations Management, or related field.

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in hospitality management, ideally at GM or Deputy GM level.

• Experience managing remote wilderness lodges.

• Strong understanding of technical lodge systems.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

• Valid Driver’s Licence.
