Kgalagadi Breweries Ltd is a locally owned beer beverages manufacturing and distribution company with sites in Gaborone and Francistown. We invite suitable applicants to apply for the roles of Packaging Manager and Technical Services Manager, both based at our Gaborone Beer Plant.
Job Purpose: To manage and co-ordinate the packaging department (people, plant, process and systems) in order to achieve the required standard of product quality and output in the most efficient and effective manner.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the packaging team in a manner that engenders ownership, empowerment and team interaction
- Lead the development of packaging team goals and ensure these are communicated and understood by team members
- Conduct regular packaging team goal review sessions, and conduct regular one-on-one and performance reviews.
- Ensure training need analyses are conducted and training plans developed for team members
- Ensure appropriate competencies are developed in the team, and ensure cross skilling occurs within the packaging team
- Safety and Housekeeping
- Ensure that the packaging team apply proper safety and housekeeping procedures, and adhere to all legal requirements when carrying out their tasks
- Ensure implementation of the appropriate SAB and legislative policies (such as OSH act) on safety and housekeeping.
- Ensure that safety and housekeeping receive the appropriate focus through regular checks and safety audits
- Where unsafe work practice have been identified, the packaging manager is responsible for correcting this
- Ensures adherence to PPE policy
- General production housekeeping
- Safe maintenance practices audited
- Ensures adherence to SHE system requirements
- Drive the implementation of VPO in accordance with the zone and plant implementation actions
- Drive safety and legal compliance in the packaging hall
Requirements
- BSc Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree
- minimum of 5 years’ experience in Production Maintenance Management with deep expertise in asset management
- Experience of managing and running a high speed packaging line would be highly advantageous
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing people
- Demonstrated experience in driving commercial decisions in a packaging hall (financial, operational, people)
