Remote Exploration Services Botswana is an exploration consulting company that provides geological, geophysical and analytical services to the exploration and Mining industry. The company is currently looking to fill a field-based position in Botswana.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing greenfield and brownfield exploration programs in remote locations. Direct experience in gold, uranium, base metals, rare earth elements and diamonds in Africa. In depth knowledge of the Kalahari copper Belt.
- Management and oversight of all technical aspects of explorations.
- High level planning, execution and interpretation of geological and geochemical surveys, as well as Air Core, Percussion, Reverse Circulation and Diamond Core drilling project.
- Compilation, integration and interpretation for all exploration dataset: geology, structure, various ground and airborne geophysics (Magnetics, AEM, IP, Gravity, Radiometric); soil and rock geochemistry, remote sensing and drilling within GIS for target generation and exploration planning.
- Experience in the setup and technical operation of a portable XRF field laboratory, including stringent QAQC.
- Technical, operational and logistical supervision, mentoring, training and management of exploration teams.
- Contractor management, preparation and monitoring of budgets and technical Client reporting.
- Overall responsibility of leading capacity building by developing local personnel, fostering a strong safety culture and upskilling the Botswana workforce in line with internationally accepted exploration and mining standards.
Requirements
- DEGREE: MSc in Geology
- REGISTRATION: SACNASP (or Similar)
- EXPERIENCE: 19 Years+
- SOFTWARE: Proficient in ArcGIS, Geosoft Target, ioGAS, MS Office Sui.
- DRIVING: Driver’s Licence with qualifications in Advanced Driving and 4×4 Vehicle Driving.
- FIRST AID: Certified in Level 4 First Aid.
- Significant time out in the field, based in a x camp.
- Genuine enthusiasm for the outdoors and willing to spend large amounts of time away from home in remote conditions.
- Proven leadership and people management skills are essential.
- Good operational, administrative, communication and teamwork skills and experience.
