Key Responsibilities

  • Loan Approval: Review and approve or reject cash loan applications based on company rules and client risk levels.
  • Risk Management: Monitor active loan portfolios, track repayment rates, and manage overdue accounts or defaults.
  • Team Leadership: Train, supervise, and guide junior loan officers and field agents.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all cash lending activities follow local financial laws, interest rate caps, and consumer protection rules.
  • Client Relations: Handle complex customer queries and negotiate debt payment schedules.

Requirements

  • A Minimum of a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Management, or a related commercial field.
  • 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in credit evaluation or operations within a microfinance setup or NBFI in Botswana.
  • Regulatory Clearance: Must meet NBFIRA’s strict “Fit and Proper” criteria, including a clean criminal record (recent Police Clearance), no history of insolvency, and clean background vetting.
