PRINCIPAL PROJECT OFFICER I (ANTI-CORRUPTION)

Purpose of the Job:
To coordinate the development and implementation of Anti-Corruption projects/plans and initiatives within the Ministry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate development and implementation of Corruption Prevention initiatives in the Ministry.
  • Conduct sensitization of staff and stakeholders on Anti-Corruption initiatives.
  • Build capacity for Corruption Prevention Committee members.
  • Monitor implementation of annual work plans for Anti-Corruption Units (ACU) and Corruptions Prevention Committees (CPC).
  • Draft publicity materials on Anti-Corruption initiatives.
  • Coordinate Corruption Prevention Committees Programmes and Projects.
  • Coordinate identification of risk prone areas within the Ministry, its impact and prevention initiatives thereof;
  • Provide secretarial and advisory services to Ministerial Corruption Prevention Committee (MCPC) on Anti-Corruption related matters.
  • Conduct preliminary inquiries and analyse cases and refer matters requiring further investigation to Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime (DCEC) and Botswana Police Services (BPS).
  • Conduct Transactional Monitoring (TM) exercises and make recommendations;
  • Coordinate Preliminary Inquiries (PIs) of corruption cases and dispose them accordingly.
  • Monitor implementation of recommendations of Transactional Monitoring (TM) and Preliminary Inquiries (PIs).
  • Monitor and maintain the Corruption Risk Register.
  • Initiate responses to all referrals from the DCEC.
  • Undertake any other related duties as required to meet exigencies of the service if any such tasks and duties do not result in conflict of interest.

Requirements

  • To be considered for appointment to this position, candidates must have at least a Degree in Social Sciences.
  • Applicants must have a minimum of ten (10) years’ work experience in Anti-Corruption or Investigative field, or related field, two (2) of which should have been served at D3 level or equivalent level in the Public Service or equivalent level in a Parastatal or in the Private Sector.

Salary

P337, 008 – P371, 628 per annum
