Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely cost estimates while ensuring efficient order processing.
• Collaborate closely with Plant Managers to understand equipment capabilities and accurately reflect these in estimating tables; work with external sales and customer service teams to clarify customer requirements for precise quotations.
• Play a key role in the transition to new estimating systems, including routine analysis of actual versus estimated costs using ERP data.
• Liaise with Purchasing to source external vendors where required.
• Work alongside Commercial Analysts in the preparation of final quotations and the management of large tenders and complex enquiries.
• Analyse and summarise commercial and cost data to support informed decision-making; maintain the cost database by regularly updating material prices and machine rates.
• Train, mentor, and support junior estimators to ensure accuracy, consistency, and skills development.

Requirements

• Diploma in Printing and/or Certificate in Print Origination.
• Extensive and diverse estimating experience with strong knowledge of newspaper printing, commercial litho, digital, and wide-format POS processes.
• Proven experience working with industry-standard MIS systems such as Heidelberg Prinect, EFI Pace, or equivalent platforms.
• Minimum of 15 years’ experience in the printing industry or a related field.
• Willingness and ability to work long hours, including weekends when required.
• Certification in Heidelberg Prinect software will be considered an added advantage.
