The National Arts Council of Botswana (NACB) is a body corporate established under the provisions of the National Arts Council of Botswana Act, No. 10 of 2020. The Council’s mandate is to develop, promote and protect the creative and cultural sector of Botswana through policy, legislation, industry facilitation and various partnerships, programmes, grants and initiatives. The Council aims to transform the local creative and cultural sector by nurturing creative excellence and preserving the nation’s rich cultural traditions with the ultimate goal of building an inclusive, sustainable and prosperous sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • To act as the principal advisor to the CEO on any procurement matters falling within the scope of the Public Procurement Act and other related legislation including but not limited to providing guidance, advice, oversight, and support in the implementation of procurement policies, processes and ensuring compliance with the provisions outlined in the Act to promote transparency and accountability in the Council’s procurement processes.
  • Strict compliance and adherence to PPRA regulations and other related regulations.
  • Clear up-to-date procurement policies, procedures and processes.
  • Effective procurement internal controls.
  • Efficient procurement advice, re-adjudication and adjudication and procurement recommendations.
  • Organisation-wide training and understanding of current procurement regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Value for money and adherence to budget limitations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Risk and Compliance, Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management or related field . An additional qualification in procurement or supply chain management will be be an added advantage.
  • Registered CIPS member.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years’ post qualification experience with at least five (5) years in procurement Specialist / Supervisory or management role in a medium to large organisation.
  • Experience establishing procurement policies, procedures, processes and internal controls is essential.
  • Experience in procurement compliance or oversight.
  • Strong understanding of public procurement legislation and regulations.
