PRODUCTION MANAGER – CITRUS PRODUCTION – Selebi Phikwe Citrus 751 views

Introduction

Selebi Phikwe Citrus is looking for a highly experienced Production Manager to join our team and contribute to the development and success of our large-scale citrus operation. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 Years experience in citrus farming management and possess a strong hands-on approach to both strategic and day-to-day responsibilities.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

Key areas of responsibility may include, but not limited to:

• Overseeing greenfield orchard development and care of young citrus trees
• Implementation and record keeping of:
  • Chemical application schedules
  • Fertiliser programmes
  • Irrigation routines
  • Pruning activities
  • Other key horticultural actions (e.g. girdling)
• Ensuring quality assurance and performance monitoring of the following:
  • Spray application efficiency
  • Harvest processes
• Pest and disease scouting, control strategies and proactive risk management.
• Managing and coordinating teams responsible for all operational activities listed above.
• Providing daily reports to farm management, flagging any deviations or challenges.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 Years hand-on experience in citrus farming operations
• Proven leadership and team coordination skills
• Thorough knowledge of pest and disease control in citrus farming
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Relevant agricultural diploma or short courses
• Willing to relocate to Selebi Phikwe, Botswana
• People management and coordination experience
