Key Responsibilities
- a . Assist in the transcription of student course materials and handouts into braille, source braille textbooks, and any other educational resources needed for students with visual impairments.
- b. Assist in the creation of accessible braille material for students with visual impairment.
- c. Ensure Braille resources and materials are used in accordance with accessibility standards and regulations.
- d. Assist in the conversion of electronic documents (e.g., PDFs, Word documents) into accessible formats, including Braille or electronic text compatible with screen readers,
- e. Assist with the identification and sourcing of braille technology and equipment and ensure that it is suitable for students use.
- f. Maintain braille equipment to ensure that they stay in good condition.
- g. Contribute to the development of and implement departmental, sectional and unit level strategies, policies, plans and procedures.
- h. Participate in the identification and mitigation of operational risks.
- i. Comply with relevant regulations and legislation.
- j. Actively engage with the professional community to support and develop expertise in an area of profession.
- k. Undertake any other duties as directed by the supervisor in line with their role.

- A Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field with specialty in one or more areas of different ability is required.
- No prior work experience is required.
- Basic knowledge of Braille transcription and Braille translation software.
