The University is looking for a qualified and experienced individuals for the below-stated positions. The successful candidates will be appointed on pensionable terms or a fixed-term contract of up to five (5) years. The position is based at the BIUST Campus, Palapye.
Advance the image of the University in the community locally, nationally and internationally through quality teaching, reserach and scholarly pursuits.
Key Responsibilities

- Manage the efforts and performance of the team.
- Prepare and submit proposals, supervise projects and graduate students, synthesise information to design learning experiences, and go seek out research grants/funding
Requirements
- A PhD degree in a relevant field of Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering with a specially in Water Resources Engineering.
- A Master of Science, Engineering in the relevant field of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- The candidate must be registered with Engineers Registration Board (ERB) Botswana.
- The candidate must be registered with Botswana Qualifications Authority (BQA) as an Assessor and Moderator.
- Atleast 10 years post doctoral experience in either teaching/lecturing/ research or industry experience in a relevant field or discipline, at least five of which must in teaching at tertiary level and graduate supervision or developing and mentoring junior research staff.
- A track record of successful research supevision at all levels including doctorate.
- A national and international record of excellence in research and publication
- Experience in teaching at tertiary level for at least 3 years
- A sustained and recent record of peer-reviewed publications and other output over at least a six-year period (min. of 32 peer-reviewed publications of Scopus or web of science indexed journals)
- Experience of obtaining external research funding
- Registration with ERB
- Registered with BQA on Assessor and Moderator will be required for the successful candidate.
