The University is looking for a qualified and experienced individuals for the below-stated positions. The successful candidates will be appointed on pensionable terms or a fixed-term contract of up to five (5) years. The position is based at the BIUST Campus, Palapye.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
- PhD in relevant field of Mining Engineering
- Master of Science in Mining Engineering
- Bachelor of Engineering or Science in Mining Engineering
- The candidate must be registered with Engineers Registration Board (ERB) Botswana
- The candidate must be registered with Botswana Qualifications Authority (BQA) as an Assessor and Moderator.
- A minimum of ten (10) years post-doctoral experience in teaching and research in the relevant field; in particular in the following areas: Underground Mining, Surface Mining, Mine Machinery, Blasting, Explosives and Rock Fragmentation, Mine Ventilation, Mine Health and Safety, Mine Backfill, and Computer Applications (versatile in the use of Surpac, Datamine & other mining engineering software).
- An excellent record of international publications with at least 30 publications in reputable refereed journals commensurate with appointment to the rank of Professor.
- Experience in the successful supervision of postgraduate students.
- Evidence of research grants awarded.
- Engagements in projects/services that benefit the University, the Profession and the Community.
- Demonstrated and sustained excellent leadership in academic and professional fields.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills.
