Main Purpose of the Job

Reporting to the Quality Control Team Leaders and indirectly to the Head of Quality Control, the incumbent will be responsible for the underwriting of loans in accordance with the credit policy. The incumbent is tasked with ensuring fast turnaround-time feedback for deals awaiting additional information from branches, customers, or 3rd parties. This should be a hardworking, assertive, results-oriented individual with an eye for detail and accuracy, ensuring compliance with affordability calculations and quality check controls as prescribed by Bayport.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. OPERATIONAL

  • Check the quality of all loan applications as per the quality control process.

  • Ensure full submission of information required for a loan application.

  • Ensure all necessary supporting documents are attached to each loan application.

  • Ensure the authenticity of supporting documents, e.g., payslips and Omang.

  • Ensure accuracy of information, including bank details, as captured on Novalend.

  • Enquire with Credit Bureaus as required per credit policy.

  • Attend to customer queries within the scope of operations and escalate all unresolved issues to the relevant report.

  • Keep the supervisor informed of any areas of potential risk and give regular feedback on queries raised by customers.

  • Validate supporting documents with 3rd parties (e.g. settlement quotes, employment letters, and bank statements) through email and telephonically.

  • Ensure confirmation of NetPay with vetting systems such as CLAS and SPIDO.

  • Ensure the validity of supporting documents through available systems, e.g., EKYC.

  • Inform and update branches through the Branch Representative and the Live Tracker on any pending loans, missing information/documentation, or any errors and their reasons.

  • Undertake any other relevant duties as required to meet the department’s overall goals.

 

2. QUALIFICATIONS

  • A degree in a finance or accounting-related field, or equivalent.

  • 0-1 year of experience in the banking or financial services sector.

CERTIFICATIONS AND TRAINING COURSES

  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
