RECEIVE & DISPATCH SUPERVISOR – Gaborone Container Terminal (Pty) Ltd

Gaborone Container Terminal (Pty) Ltd, an integrated logistics provider, and container hub, seeks to recruit suitably qualified individuals for the following position:
Receive & Dispatch Supervisor

The successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination and monitoring of the movement of containers en route, received, stored, and dispatched to ensure efficient customer service. The incumbent will among other roles:
1. Coordinates the movement of containers in and out of the terminal and monitors that offloading/loading is done timeously.
2. Tracks movement of containers en route through liaison with rail service providers.
3. Ensures that train shunts are done at the agreed times and follow up on deviations.
4. Ensures that containers are checked, verified, stored/stacked in accordance with respective clients/shipping lines.
5. Ensures containers are stacked safely in the terminal, door to door to prevent pilferage.
6. Ensures discrepancy reports are made for all containers which are tempered with.
7. Ensures that the container inspection report and arrival list are compiled, and old labels are removed from wagons.
8. Minimizes queries arising from mishandling and late dispatch and ensures efficient customer service.
9. Ensures regular updates of the Gaborone Terminal Management System (GTMS) on container movements.
10. Ensures terminal safety and security for goods and persons accessing the terminal.
11. Validates the incoming list from Security and verify against system data

Minimum Requirements

⦁ Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Supply Chain/Transport & Logistics /Terminal Logistics or related field.
⦁ Minimum five (5) years of relevant work experience in a supply chain/transport & logistics environment.
⦁ Sound technical skills in bulk goods tracking, warehousing and dispatch.
Clean valid driver’s license (class B).
