The Research Associate conducts and supports research across 4T’s programmes, contributing to analysis, writing and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct literature reviews, data collection from primary and secondary sources, qualitative and quantitative analyses using appropriate tools and/or specialised software.
  • Draft technical research reports, academic manuscripts, policy briefs and presentations.
  • Design and execution of research programmes/projects within scope, budget, quality and timeline.
  • Develop high-quality concept notes, proposals and grant-writing for programmes.
  • Coordinate stakeholders and conduct workshops, convenings and field research.
  • Create programme reports, documents and evidence artifacts in line with funder compliance requirements.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in engineering, economics, energy or a related field.
  • Relevant research and proposal development experience.
  • Strong analytical, research and writing skills.
  • Exposure to climate, energy, minerals or economic transition studies in Africa and the Global South.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work both independently and as part of a team.
