RISK OFFICER

VACANCY

Reporting to the Underwriting Supervisor, incumbent will be responsible to analyse and underwrite new and existing policies in order to achieve agreed levels of underwriting performance by providing technical underwriting
to customers and brokers in order to ensure business retention and growth, and manages the client relationship to
maximize customer lifetime value for the organisation.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

2. Review insurance applications for compliance and adherence.

4. Provide qualitative service levels to internal and external stakeholders.
5. Draw up quotes for competitive insurance premiums.
6. Liaise with reinsurers to gather information, opinions and reinsurance placements.
7. Keep detailed records of policies underwritten and decisions made.
8.
9. Follow applicable insurance laws; Regulatory Frameworks, Insurance Industry Act of Botswana, NBFIRA Act,
and compliance to Anti-Money Laundering requirements.
10. Comply with technical and operational underwriting standards, procedures and controls.

EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum of 2 years work experience in an insurance environment.
• Knowledge of insurance policies and ability to relate policy provisions to the loss exposures.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management, Sales and Marketing, Business, Finance.
