* **Project Name:** Karowe Lateral Development Contract
* **Location:** Group R Mining and Exploration Botswana (Pty) Ltd, Karowe Diamond Mine, Letlhakane, Botswana
* **Contractor:** Karowe Diamond Mine, Letlhakane, Botswana
* **Project Start:** Mid 2026 (expected mobilization in Q2 2026)
* **Project Scope:** Underground lateral development works for the Karowe Diamond Mine Underground Project (UGP), connecting the production and ventilation shafts to the orebody and building all supporting infrastructure.
The SHE Manager will be responsible for implementing and maintaining health, safety and environmental systems for the underground development project.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement SHE policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements
- Conduct risk assessments and incident investigations
- Promote a strong safety culture across the project
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Safety Management, Environmental Science or related field
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in underground mining SHE management
