In many job advertisements for SHE Officer positions, employers often require a Diploma or Degree. However, I believe candidates who hold a SHE Certificate should also be considered, especially if they have practical experience and additional safety training.
A certificate provides foundational knowledge in occupational health and safety, risk assessment, and workplace compliance. With dedication, continuous learning, and on-the-job experience, certificate holders can perform SHE duties effectively.
Opportunities for certificate holders can also help them gain experience while they continue upgrading their qualifications to diploma or degree level. This approach can help develop more safety professionals and strengthen workplace safety culture.
