**Job Title:** Sales Manager: Retail Business (Francistown)
**Role Purpose (Job Summary):**
Reporting to the Regional Manager: Retail Sales, the incumbent will be primarily responsible for selling retail products through sales consultants and retaining existing business to ensure that production budget is achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet and exceed assigned sales budget and revenue goals across channels of distribution, identifying opportunities for cross selling and upselling within the retail sales segment.
- Set targets, monitor performance, and drive results.
- Stay updates on products, train team and offerings.
- Ensure compliance with regulations.
- Drive customer retention, cross selling.
- Foster relationships with brokers, and corporate clients.
- Track sales KPIs and prepare reports.
- Collaborate with underwriting and marketing for campaigns.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and internal compliance standards within the retail business unit, including documentation, reporting, and ethical business practices.
- Identify market opportunities to expand client base.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities to develop innovative strategies for growth.
- Identify market opportunities to expand client base.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams, including sales, underwriting, marketing and customer service, to drive a unifies approach towards achieving organisational goals.
Requirements
- A degree in business management, marketing or related field.
- 3 – 5 years’ post qualification experience in corporate sales, relationship management, or business development within the insurance or financial services industry.
- Sales Management experience.
- Certificate of proficiency (Long term insurance).
- Life Insurance product knowledge.
- Ability to manage and guide diverse teams.
- Capacity to implement distribution strategies and tactical sales approaches.
- Expertise in planning and coordinating sales activities.
- Commercial and strategic thinking.
- Solid analytical, decision making, and problem-solving abilities with sound judgement.
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Strong and interpersonal and networking skills.
- Driven by strong customer service ethos.
