Job Description
MP Mining would like to invite suitably qualified innovative, result oriented and self-driven individual to apply for the position of Senior Superintendent – Reporting and join a professional team driven by service excellence and where demands of the business are met by encouraging teamwork. Successful incumbent will report to the Finance Manager.
Purpose of the Role
- To prepare, maintain, and analyses timely and accurate accounts to ensure that the financial records of the Mine present a fair and accurate reflection of the financial performance and position of the Company in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IRS).
- To incorporate departmental budgets and cost saving initiatives into the budget and operate within approved parameters.
- Performs annual and quarterly forecasts.
- Recommends changes to coding of the General ledger (GL) Chart of accounts ensuring proper alignment of cost coding.
- Reviews GL reconciliation ensuring that corrective measures are done timeously.
- Responsible for drafting of the Companies policies, and procedures.
- To effectively supervise the accounting sections in order to provide the mine with an accounting service.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Accounting and additional certification with a recognized professional accounting qualification (CIMA or ACCA).
- Five (5) years of accounting experience.
- Fellow registration with the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA)
- Working knowledge and understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Working knowledge and understanding of Botswana taxation.
- Competency in risk management
- Experienced with a large ERP/Accounting software and reporting tool (e.g. Greentree)
