The Senior Construction Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing the construction of a state-of-the-art process plant for a copper mining operation in Africa. This ambitious project is integral to our commitment to sustainable mining practices and will play a crucial role in the growth and success of our operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing comprehensive construction plans, ensuring alignment with project timelines, budget constraints, and quality standards
- Overseeing the bidding process for construction contracts, assess proposals, and negotiate contracts with selected vendors.
- Conducting regular inspections and audits to identify and address potential issues proactively
- Monitoring project expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring adherence to the approved budget
- Monitoring and enforcing contract compliance, addressing any issues that may arise during the construction phase
- Implementing rigorous quality control measures to guarantee that construction work meets industry standards and specifications.
- Providing visible leadership and management to ensure safety lessons, best practice and risk mitigation initiatives are implemented and enforced.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Proven experience (minimum of 8 years) as a Construction Manager in the mining or heavy construction industry, with a focus on process plant construction.

- Familiarity with copper mining processes and associated infrastructure is highly desirable.
- A valid class B driver’s license and good driving record is a must for all positions.
