Senior Drill Operator – Fixed-term role at Botswana project sites (site-based). Responsible for operating drilling equipment safely and efficiently while providing technical guidance to drill crews and supporting the achievement of production, quality, and project targets.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate drilling rigs safely and efficiently in accordance with drilling programs, procedures, and manufacturer requirements.
- Conduct pre-start inspections and ensure drilling equipment is operated and maintained within required standards.
- Monitor drilling performance, penetration, recovery, ground conditions, and equipment utilisation.
- Identify and report equipment defects, operational issues, hazards, and incidents and coordinate with maintenance where required.
- Provide guidance and support to drillers and crew members to maintain safe and productive drilling practices.
- Complete accurate shift reports, drilling records, production data, and other required documentation.
- Maintain good housekeeping, enforce site rules, and actively contribute to HSE performance.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in drilling operations, with substantial experience operating drilling rigs.
- Proven experience as a Senior Driller, Driller, or equivalent role in mining or exploration drilling.
- Strong knowledge of drilling techniques, equipment, safety practices, and operational procedures.
- Experience with RC, diamond, rotary, or other relevant drilling methods is an advantage.
- Valid drilling, safety, and rig-specific competency certificates relevant to the equipment are required.
- Strong communication and reporting skills, with the ability to work effectively in remote site environments.
