Key Responsibilities
- Carry out inspection, maintenance, fault finding, testing, repair, and installation of electronic and electrical systems.
- Diagnose complex faults on drilling rigs, control systems, instrumentation, sensors, communication systems, and associated equipment.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimise equipment downtime and improve reliability.
- Work closely with mechanical and maintenance teams to diagnose and resolve integrated electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and control-system issues.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, service reports, fault histories, and parts requirements.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with HSE requirements, electrical safety procedures, manufacturer specifications, and site standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior fitters and maintenance personnel.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in electronic/electrical maintenance within mining, drilling, heavy equipment, or industrial operations.
- Relevant trade qualification in electronics, electrical engineering, instrumentation, or a related field.
- Strong troubleshooting knowledge of electronic control systems, sensors, PLCs, instrumentation, and drilling equipment.
- Experience working with mobile equipment and drilling rigs is highly advantageous.
- Ability to read electrical/electronic schematics and use appropriate diagnostic and testing equipment.
- Proven experience working in remote or site-based environments with strong safety and reporting skills.
