The Senior Executive, Industrial Relations is responsible for managing and strengthening labour relations, workplace harmony, and compliance with labour legislation across SPEDU and its operations within the SPEDU region. The role ensures that employment relationships are managed in a fair, transparent, and legally compliant manner, while proactively mitigating labour-related risks that could affect organisational performance, reputation, and service delivery.
The position plays a critical role in maintaining industrial peace, supporting organisational transformation, and enabling a productive and engaged workforce aligned with SPEDU’s mandate.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish a structured and proactive industrial relations environment within the SPEDU region.
- Ensure full compliance with labour legislation and best practice among all firms operating within SPEDU.
- Facilitate SPEDU companies resolve labour disputes efficiently and minimise operational disruption.
- Build constructive relationships with trade unions and employee representatives.
- Ensures labour stability during organisational change.
- Promote a positive and productive work environment.
- Ensures visibility and control over industrial relations risks.
- Ensure adherence to ethical standards, confidentiality, and procedural fairness.
- Escalate high-risk or sensitive labour issues to Management.
- Support compliance with governance and audit requirements.
Requirements
- Education: Degree or postgraduate qualification in Labour Relations, Human Resources, Law, Industrial Psychology, or related field.
- Experience: 7 years in industrial relations or labour law practice.
- Technical Competencies: Labour legislation, dispute resolution, negotiation, case management, compliance.
- Behavioural Competencies: Integrity, objectivity, discretion, negotiation skills, strong communication.
