Botswana Harvard Health Partnership is a collaborative research and training initiative between government of Botswana and the Harvard School of Public Health. BHP is dedicated to fight HIV/AIDS and related public health challenges through collaborative research, education and capacity building. We seek an experienced, assertive, results driven individuals for the following positions:
The incumbent will report directly to the Human Resource Manager and will be responsible to support the overall functions of the department. The organization seeks experienced, assertive, and results-driven individuals to support its mission of fighting HIV/AIDS and related public health challenges through research, education, and capacity building.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with the Botswana Employment & Labour Act and BHP’s disciplinary code.
- Monitoring recruitment metrics such as retention rates and staff turnover.
- Manage the grievance and disciplinary hearing processes, including the preparation of charges, chairing of hearings (or advising panel members), and drafting of outcome letters.
- Lead the end-to-end performance management cycle, including goal setting, mid-year reviews, and annual appraisals.
- Coach and advise line managers on effective performance feedback, poor performance management, and the development of Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).
- Administer employee benefits (medical aid, pension fund, group life) and serve as the liaison with service providers regarding queries and renewals.
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle utilizing the Recruitment Management System, ensuring adherence to BHP’s talent acquisition policies.
- Partner with Principal Investigators and Department Heads to conduct workforce planning and develop strategic sourcing strategies for specialized research and clinical roles.
- Utilize HR data analytics to generate insights on workforce trends, turnover rates, and recruitment efficiency; present monthly HR dashboards to senior management.
- Promote employee welfare by developing and implementing policies and programs that support employee well-being.
Requirements
- Masters/bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline (Human Resources/Business Administration/Social Science).
- Experience in a grant funded environment is an added advantage.
- Membership of any HR professional body.
- Strong conceptualization of Human Resources initiatives.
- Minimum of Five (5) years’ experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory level.
- Working knowledge of HR systems and software.
- Events management experience.
- Data Analytics skills.
- The ability to research, analyze, and make logical decisions within a given timeframe.
