SENIOR MESH MACHINE TECHNICIANS (x4)
Location: Selebi Phikwe, Botswana
Experience Required: Minimum 5 Years

Role Purpose:
A manufacturing unit in Selebi Phikwe is recruiting four highly experienced Technical Operators for Reinforcement Mesh Welding Machines. The ideal candidates must be experts in machine assembly, operation, and maintenance, with specific knowledge of SADC reinforcement standards.
Key Technical Competencies:
- Machine Operation: Ability to run machines for various mesh designs and types
- SADC Standards Knowledge: Must be familiar with technical naming conventions and grades for the SADC region (e.g., SANS/ BOBS)
- Electrical Configuration: Expert control of frequency and voltage settings for welding electrodes to ensure strong, compliant welds
- Pneumatics: Troubleshooting and maintaining pneumatic pressure systems
- Grade of Steel: Must know the grades/specifications of steel required to manufacture
- Auxiliary equipment: Should be able to run Auxiliary equipment and other equipment necessary to run the reinforcement meshes, like wire straightening & cut machine, bending machine etc…
Maintenance & Repair Duties:
- Assembly/Dismantling: Ability to fully assemble and dismantle the machine for relocation or overhaul
- Component Replacement: Routine changing of brakes, contacts, and mechanical parts.
- In-House Repairs: Diagnose and fix mechanical/electrical breakdowns on-site (spares provided)
- Speed Control: Adjusting machine speed for optimal output without compromising weld quality
- Mesh Repairs: Ability to identify defects in produced mesh and perform necessary manual repairs/welding to ensure quality assurance
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience
- Willingness to relocate to/work in Selebi Phikwe
- Must be willing to train and transfer skill to interns
- Able to create SOP for operation of the machine
