VACANCY CIRCULAR NO.51 OF 2025

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ministry of Local Government and Traditional Affairs employees for the below mentioned post tenable in the City of Francistown Council.

POST: SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR

QUALIFICATION: Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field from a recognized University or Academic Institution.

SALARY: D4 (P 255,948 – P282,120) per annum

LEAVE: 30 Working days per annum

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two (2) years’ work related experience of which must have been served as Quantity Surveyor I– C2/1.

REGISTRATION: Applicants must provide proof Registration with Quantity Surveyors Registration Council.

BENEFITS: Contributory Pension Scheme (Government pays 15% employee pays 5%). Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government pays 50% and employee pays 50%).

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To monitor building projects progress to ensure prudent financial expenditure.

DUTIES:

– Prepares bills of quantities and specifications to guide in the preparation of the budget of the projects.
– Monitors building projects progress to carry out cost control analysis in order to avoid possible cost overrun and suggests preventive measures.
– Works out financial fluctuations in building projects for approval of the supervisor.
– Collects relevant technical information required for preparation of terms of reference for consultant quantity surveyors and compiles the terms of reference and conditions necessary for engagement of consultant quantity surveyors.
– Undertakes any other related duty as directed by management.
