WE’RE HIRING: SOUS CHEF

Location: Camp | Reporting To: Head Chef\

JOB PURPOSE

The Sous Chef is responsible for delivering quality guest food through planning, preparation, and cooking while maintaining professional kitchen health and safety standards.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

– Plan, prepare, and cook guest meals and refreshments according to set menus and quality standards.
– Conduct quality checks for taste, presentation, and food safety compliance.
– Maintain high standards in kitchen processes and provide feedback for improvement.
– Adapt menus for guest dietary needs, allergies, or preferences.
– Prepare snacks and refreshments for guest activities (e.g., game drives).
– Manage food and equipment inventory to minimize wastage.
– Ensure kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, and proper waste disposal.
– Supervise and train kitchen staff, providing performance feedback.
– Follow standard operating procedures and report issues promptly.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

– Diploma/Certificate in Culinary Arts (or equivalent).
– Minimum 2 years in a similar role (safari industry experience preferred).
– Proficiency in diverse cooking techniques, cuisines, and ingredients.
